As the world turns

turning points!  That’s all.

NB: I have just realised that the default comments policy on the blog required a name and email. I have switched this off, so you can comment as anonymously as you like (but please give yourself a name, at least in the body of the comment, so you’re not all just ‘Anonymous’. Unless of course, your name is actually ‘Anonymous’ which would be a cruel burden to bear).

  1. what if someone named anon e. mous went back to elizabethan times and kept getting in who’s-on-first-style misunderstandings because whenever someone asked their name and they said anon the other person thought they were using the elizabethan word

    1. Indeed, although that sounds curiously familiar, like one of those over-contrived ‘comedy’ moments in various Shakespeare plays that my English teacher used to do to death by over-analysing, chortling as he did so.

Apropos not very much, I tend to think of the word ‘nuncle’ as signifying the onset of such unfunniness in Shakespeare, but on looking it up I discover that it was mainly used as a term of affection used by prostitutes. Well well.

Anyway, the feeble jokes here will continue, regardless of change of site, taste or wit.

  2. “NB” as in noto bene, I assume. I don’t see that often, not since my high school days with the Jesuits.

I have, and continue to enjoy your work.

    Best,

    1. That’s interesting. I use it all the time… it is fairly common in British English, as well as in French (I live in France). Is it not used so much in other (I’m guessing American – but there are other places, obviously), English?

P.S. (or N.B.): a Jesuit-educated male who has (presumably, as you are here) developed a sexual interest in BDSM. What are the chances, eh?

  3. I just noticed that the watermarks on these still have “blogspot” instead of the new URL.

    1. Yes, and many of them always will, I am afraid. I have about 3000 unposted captioned images (I have published about 7000), and I try to post an assortment of older and newer ones. In other words, the captions I post are not all written recently, not by any means. The watermark is in the .jpg and I’d have to go to the original files and resave each one to change it, so it’s just going to have to stay. I’m putting the new URL on new ones, but it’ll be years before we’re even at 50% new vs old, I suspect.

  4. I’m glad you’re up and running. The best thing is that this new site loads so much faster, without periodic confirmation buttons all the time. And since you own the domain, you’re censorship-resistant. (Make sure you download the backups from time to time, though!)

    1. Thank you. I’m glad too. Indeed, avoiding warning screens, sign-in requirements and restrictions on mature content (even though I’d suggest that much of the content here is thoroughly immature – certainly the humour) was the main point. I even selected a web hosting firm that is recommended as being friendly to such naughty content. I’m a bit hit-and-miss in using WordPress at the moment, but I’ll be sure to try to keep it working smoothly!

Do let me know if you spot anything that needs sorting out.

    1. Others feel the same – including me, strong sub, although to go by your name we are as different as two submissive males could be.

Many thanks for stopping by to post your kind comment.
