Regular readers will know that this blog’s theme does not lend itself well to standing up bravely against intimidation. Quite the opposite, actually. Nonetheless, although I don’t often mention it here, this blog is produced in Paris, where I live. So, I just want to say:
Allons enfants de la patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Contre nous de la tyrannie
L’etendard sanglant est levé!
Entendez-vous dans les campagnes,
Mugir ces féroces soldats?
Ils viennent jusque dans nos bras
Égorger nos fils, nos compagnes!
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Contre nous de la tyrannie
L’etendard sanglant est levé!
Entendez-vous dans les campagnes,
Mugir ces féroces soldats?
Ils viennent jusque dans nos bras
Égorger nos fils, nos compagnes!
Aux armes, citoyens!
Formez vos bataillons!
Marchons! Marchons!
Qu’un sang impur
Abreuve nos sillons!
Formez vos bataillons!
Marchons! Marchons!
Qu’un sang impur
Abreuve nos sillons!

Vive La Belle France
Long live all human beings, together.
When the people of France mourn, they are not alone. When the people of Lebanon mourn, they are not alone. When the people of Kenya mourn, they are not alone. Let us never forget the humanity that binds us.
