  1. Heir and a Spare

Always delighted to see Downton Domination return – especially when it features well-bred castratrixes!

One thing: I think that beautiful flapper is being a little too unkind. As she is prepping het husband for his ‘snip’ should could at least offer him some reassurance.

It would be good form to remind him that although his family jewels are soon to become her bedside souvenir, the family name will continue. She could even console him by mentioning those handsome friends, dashing fellow officers and strapping grooms who will be impregnating her in the (very near) future.

    Good manners cost nothing.

    1. Actually, I understand the lady in question prefers to accommodate the lower orders – groundsmen, delivery boys and the like. Just as dear DH described in that frightfully entertaining little book of his. Any dedicated breeder recognises the importance of introducing a rougher strain from time to time, from males with more vigour and vim and she is prepared to sacrifice her comfort as often as it takes. She does like to mention that her dear husband had spent the war enjoying fine wines as a staff-officer safely behind the lines, as she finds that this inspires the ex-servicemen she favours to still greater efforts.

By the way, PP, have you noticed I’ve managed the whole response to your fine comment without making the usual pun on the word ‘spunk’? Quite proud of myself, there.

      Best wishes

      S

PS ‘Castratrices’, surely? Rhymes with waitresses, more or less… you could write a poem about them, I expect.
